Perfectionism/Imposter Syndrome

“Imposter syndrome is prevalent in every profession. Up to 80% of people go through this at various points in their lives.” Forbes (2022)

Both perfectionism and imposter syndrome are rooted in attachment fears and can lead to anxiety, burnout, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, anger, overwhelm, excessive worrying, sleep disturbance, procrastination, etc.

Signs you are suffering from perfectionism or imposter syndrome:

-Having thoughts of not being “smart/capable/competent” enough

-Constantly questioning your decisions

-Anxiety triggered by interpersonal interactions

-Basing your worth on achievements

-Unfavorably comparing yourself to others

-Fear of failure/making mistakes
